Are We Fighting a Holy War?

When I write, I include wherever appropriate, references to Holy Scripture and to religious figures of note, as well as my own faith. This is in complete accordance with not only our Founding Fathers, but also in complete accordance with all American leaders throughout our history. I do this with complete confidence, ignoring the protests of strident secularists, who have for the past 40 years attempted to irradicate God from our public life. I do not entertain their protests. Those who believe this way, are in the vast minority of this Country and need to bow to the founding principles of America.
When we bow to them instead, we act as Pilate and wash our hands of the God from whom every one of our inalienable rights have come. When we bow to secularists and atheists, or to Islamists, we do so at our own grave peril. We tell God that the opinions of human beings are more important than He is.
I respect, with all my being, the right of each individual human being to have his own faith, his own beliefs and his own religion, if he feels so inclined. He may respectfully speak of his atheism the same way I speak of my own Christianity. But when atheists and secularists attempt to shout down and disrespect the rights of believers in public, they demonstrate the most evil of totalitarian aims. They demonstrate not their respect for freedom, but their desire to have their own way. This is as un-American as it is un-Godly.
Any believer who caves to this tyranny is as culpable in our own demise as the atheist who bullies him. We must speak boldly in the manner of our ancestors. Or face the loss of our own freedom for generations to come.
My one prayer every single day is that I will not disgrace Him. I don’t give one whit what others think of me. They are not the ones who will judge me when I face Him at the end of my days on earth. We all need to remember this, in my opinion. And show the courage of our forebears in speaking boldly against evil and proudly for God, not only in private, but always, always in public too.
May God bless and keep the United States of America and never forsake us, as we are His very own. One Nation under God, fighting for the good without ceasing.
