Barry O and El Rushbo
by Kyle-Anne Shiver • January 26, 2009
I don’t know about you, dear Reader, but I just could not help but let out an exasperated sigh last week, when Barry O scolded Republican Congressmen that if they wanted to get anything done, then they needed “to stop listening to Rush Limbaugh.”
What a heap of brazen balderdash!
I would far sooner defend my listening to El Rushbo and his factual analysis of real issues than be in the position of having to explain why I listened to that raving, racist lunatic, Jeremiah Wright, for 20 years and then had the added gall to call it “Church.”
Barry O need not remind us that he “won.” We know it; there’s nothing we can do about it. The problem is that he is the very first man to ever hold the Office that wasn’t tested beforehand.
And herein lies the real problem with the Obama Presidency, in my opinion.
Our mainstream media, the Fourth Estate so essential to any Democracy, were nearly unanimously enthralled with Obama, or they were afraid of his race to the point that they excused and ignored nearly every danger sign and radical association in his past, to the point of denying the American people (and the candidate himself) of the testing so necessary before handing over the reigns of power.
We now have the unprecedented situation of having someone in our highest elected Office that has had people bending over backwards not to offend, not to call out, not to badger or hammer home a single solid objection to anything whatsoever that he has done. We are become like the doting, reticent grandparents who raised Barry and now we will see the world put him to the tests we refused to put him to ourselves.
Was this ridiculous indulgence of ours just because this was the first “clean, articulate black man” (Joe Biden’s words) in our midst who had a future in politics? Was our shortsighted rush to ensconce him in the White House driven by our fear of being labeled “racist” by mooching Europeans and world dictators?
It doesn’t matter. Because in the end we have abdicated our own responsibility to test this man we have empowered. And now, the testing we refused to do ourselves will be done by others. Joe Biden was at least correct in this. Anyone who believes, however, that Barry O will be granted such leniency and deference by IslamoFascist terrorists would seem to be living within a fantasy bubble. Just as the child raised by overly indulgent and worshipful parents gets quick comeuppance in the world at large upon his entrance there, so too our new President will be tested, tested and tested again.
We, the People, however, will not be given 24/7 Secret Service protection nor a secret underground bunker in the mountains in which to hide our families. We will be the ones at the mercy of those who wish to test our leader to his utmost limits. And we have not a single clue what those limits are. We have become a Nation of fools.
And El Rushbo may be one of the very, very few voices of reason and domestic testing that our new Leader can get. So, my personal advice to all Americans is to listen to Rush, pick up any failings or problems Barry O encounters at home and blast the White House nonstop with challenges. Only if Barry O can toughen himself and learn how to deal with disagreement and discord and testing at home will we stand a chance of having him tough enough for the rest of the world. Putting down challenges with a wave of one’s hand or a condescending “that’s enough” simply will not cut it in the world where respect must be earned the hard way.
That’s my opinion, and as an old hand at rumbling with overly-indulged teenagers, I would say that we may be in for one heck of a bumpy ride. But better Barry O gets it from El Rushbo and us than from the bullies in Iran and Syria and all their little terror groups. Because those “tests” put all of us in grave danger.
